Gain control of your life!
Nine Habits of the Financially Fit
- Be a Giver.
Give away 10% of your income. Make giving your first bill. You can live better on 90% then you can on 100%, because you step into a spiritual principle.
- Be a Saver.
Save 10% of your income. Make savings your second bill. If you can't start with 10%, start with a small amount and work your way up to 10%.
- Live Beneath Your Means.
In order to accumulate money, you need to spend less than what you earn. Simplify your life, scale down.
- Don't Do Unsecured Debt.
If you cannot pay your credit card bill in full when the bill comes, do not make the purchase. You can't afford it.
- Be Prepared for Emergencies.
Wisdom tells us that unexpected things can and do happen. We need to prepare for them ahead of time, so we don't have to fall back on using credit.
- Know Your Financial Condition.
You need to know where your money is going. Develop a spending plan. Keep your checkbook balanced.
- Get What You Pay For.
Always keep receipts, warranties, owner's manuals. Learn how to properly express complaints. Research before making any major purchase.
- Be an Investor.
Do not invest until you have your debt under control. Invest a predetermined amount of money at a set time each month and stick with it.
- Plan for the Future.
Plan for retirement early, to receive advantage of compounding interest. Let your money work for you. It's never too early to start.
Desiring wealth and choosing to be rich in every way possible takes immense courage, courage that, one way or another, you have to draw upon every day.
You have to think it, you have to say it, and you have to take the actions to make it happen.
With faith, integrity, and courage, anything and everything is possible!
