Patience

Let go and let God!

Lord, Help Me Not to be like my Cat!
I Need Patience!!!  NOW!!!

We have a cat named "Cuddles".  For the most part she is a good cat.  She started out as a house cat, but when she ripped the curtains down off the living room window, she suddenly began residing outdoors.  She has a little house on our front porch and that is where her food and water are kept.  Every morning I go out to feed her, and I get very frustrated, because she is so anxious to get her food that she pushes my hand away so I cannot fill up her bowl.  If she would just stay back for two seconds, I would have her bowl filled and she could begin to eat.  But she pushes my hand away, and usually causes me to spill her water and it takes twice as long to fill her food bowl than it should.

Sometimes we are like that with God.  We want something so badly, that we hamper His efforts to help us.  We 'push His hand away' as He reaches down to meet our needs.

If Cuddles only knew that I am more anxious to feed her than she is to be fed, then perhaps she would back off and let me do what I need to do.  She would get her food more quickly, and her water would not get spilled in the process.

How often does our "water get spilled", and we wonder why God let it happen.  When He is saying, "If you just hold back and let me work, your water would not get spilled in the first place".

Each day brings more frustrations, why can't Cuddles see that I am trying to help her, and that she is the one causing all the problems?  Oftentimes we blame God for what is our own doing.  As we come into God's presence each day, let's realize that He is more anxious to meet our needs that we are to have our needs met.

Let's back off and let God do what He needs to do.
